I happened to be watching TV yesterday and stumbled upon a local channel featuring Canadian produced ESL skits designed to help viewers learn English. To my surprise, the show was very well done and full of speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary and grammar skills and tips. Lots of phrases and idioms were tied into each episode and I have to say, it kept me in my seat! >>>The series, Let's Talk English, is fresh and unique with a cast that can act and provide humour to its audience. Each show has 6-7 episodes that you can watch online (free I might add!) and is aimed to help newcomers learn more about North American behaviour and customs. Let's Talk English will now be one of my favourites to show and promote in class to my beginner and intermediate students. I also believe there's enough challenging vocabulary to keep even the more advanced learners entertained and focused on pronunciation, intonation and the odd sounding phrases we use to express ourselves and communicate with others in English.
